What we do
Lorica St Patrick's

The work of Lorica St Patrick’s encompasses:

A Nightshelter providing emergency overnight beds and initial contact for up to 22 men without homes and living on the streets.
A 29-bed hostel providing a home, help and support for men and women wanting to face their difficulties and gain further life skills.
Supported accommodation in the form of ‘move-on’ houses throughout the city, enabling progression towards independence for up to 19 people ready to take this step.
A learning and resource centre providing a range of education, training and work opportunities.

An all night café providing additional emergency shelter, safety and warmth in the winter months when the Nightshelter is full.
The distribution of food received during Harvest Festival to partner organisations providing support to people affected by poverty.
Presentations and talks to schools and organisations, profiling the difficulties experienced by the poor, homeless and lonely individuals we encounter every day.

Lorica St Patrick’s is currently working on revolutionary night shelter accommodation for the street homeless, inspired by the Japanese pod hotels. Working with input from homeless people, the concepts aim to meet some general needs for security and privacy as well as to satisfy individual needs and preferences.

Initial reactions to the concepts have been very positive and the groundbreaking designs have been well received.
