The Hostel, a modern 5 storey purpose-built facility erected within the church itself, is divided into groups of bedrooms with a large communal kitchen/living rooms. Accommodating 29 people the purpose of the Hostel is resettlement, providing help, support and assessment when the residents themselves identify their need for change. The aim is to enable residents to re-settle back into society with the motivation and skills needed to mentally and physically engage with their surroundings.

Lorica St Patrick’s
is currently working on revolutionary night
shelter accommodation for the street homeless,
inspired by the Japanese pod hotels. Working
with input from homeless people, the concepts
aim to meet some general needs for security
and privacy as well as to satisfy individual
needs and preferences.
Initial reactions to
the concepts have been very positive and the
groundbreaking designs have been well received. |
